HiNeighbour has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how anyone can report a concern, and what we do about it.
HiNeighbour is for residents aged 18 and over. Our Terms state this, accounts are for adults, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create one. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it - see section 3.
We also ask Google Play to withhold the app from accounts it has determined belong to minors, and the App Store age rating is set above the default the content alone would produce.
The following are prohibited absolutely, in posts, photos, listings, profiles and private messages alike, and are grounds for immediate removal and permanent termination:
Anyone can report a concern, whether or not they have an account:
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999 first. Reporting to us is not a substitute for reporting a crime.
We comply with UAE law on the protection of children and on cybercrime, including Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 (Wadeema's Law) and Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021, and with the child safety requirements of the app stores we distribute through, including Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and the App Store Review Guidelines. Where the law of a user's country imposes stricter obligations on us, we follow those too.
Questions about these standards, or about a specific concern, go to support@carnelian.tech.
